Indonesia - Outdoor advertising

Description
The Indonesian outdoor advertising industry has developed very successfully in both traditional areas (street furniture and transport) and emerging areas such as digital signage, and has grown over the past years.  The industry is not involved in politically sensitive editorial content so it has benefited from a relatively benign regulatory environment.
 
The outdoor advertising market generated adspend of IDR 1.7 billion in 2008 with a CAGR of 24.2% in 2004-2008.  The outdoor advertising sector contributes 6.4% of total media adspend (2008).  
 
Rainbow is a large outdoor advertising company that offers an extensive billboard network across Indonesia.  Media Scope is another major media company in Jakarta and operates in airport advertising, web development/hosting, media planning/buying and OOH media development.  PT Media Indra Buana (MIB) is an outdoor advertising agency that offers outdoor, indoor and other promotional services.  The company’s outdoor advertising offering includes billboards, building wrapping, digital printing and street furniture.
 
The industry is overseen by the Indonesian Outdoor Media Association (AMIL), which regulates the display of outdoor advertisements in Jakarta.
